2007 Prinz von Hessen Riesling Kabinette
If you enjoy Riesling wines, the 2007 Prinz von Hessen Riesling Kabinett is a little beauty that you can’t afford to pass up. Hailing from the Rheingau region of Germany, this particular Riesling is labeled “Kabinett,” which means – to make a long story short – that it is usually the driest (and least expensive) wine in Germany’s highest quality wine category.
This Riesling has everything going for it – that distinctive “petrol” nose, just the slightest hint of sweetness on the palate before turning bone dry, touches of mineral & grapefruit, and a beautifully balanced acidity. This is a superbly versatile wine that marries well with a wide range of foods.
The best part, however, is the price. The 2007 Prinz von Hessen generally retails for around $22.00… but the PA Liquor Control Board has is on sale as a “Chairman’s Special” for a mere $12.99. I’ve already laid in a case… but it looks like there’s still plenty to go around… Don’t miss out on this one!!!
Cheers!
